Stella McCartney’s presentation of curving mesh-accented cocktail dresses makes for a fanciful Friday Frock. I’ve seen the frock, from McCartney’s Spring 2012 collection, on several Hollywood notables. Each time my eyes glance at the sexy, modern, mini-dress I want to immediately break the bank. While in Las Vegas this week, I spied another incarnation of this creation, while one of my colleagues took a chance on a non-alcoholic Sin City fizz. The combination of sultry-sporty perfection plus a sip of a Shirley Temple feels fun to me on this Friday.
Make this fizz at home:
8 oz Club Soda (or 7-Up)
1 oz Grenadine syrup
1 Maraschino cherry
Mix soda and Grenadine syrup.
Serve on ice in tall glass, garnished by Maraschino cherry.
If you want to get old school, you can make your own Maraschino cherries with a cherry pitter (also good for olives, too). Once your cherries are pitted, warm some Maraschino liqueur to an easy simmer and pour over cherries in a canning jar. Mix the liqueur with a splash of water and sugar to lighten the boozy taste.
